Mrs. Karen Day Brooks, age 60, of Gaylesville, AL, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Brooks was born May 11, 1956, in LaFayette, GA, daughter of Bobbie Lynn Jackson Day and the late James Emmett "Shorty" Day.  She was a homemaker and had worked in construction.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael "Little Mike" Day. 

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband, Edward Brooks; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Alisha Wilson; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Chris Harris, Kelia Crider and Joshua Bates; mother, Bobbie Day; a sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Michael Wayne Morris; grandchildren, Madysin Crider, Jazmyne Crider, Crimson Bates, Jackson Harris, Conley Harris, Cordell Harris, Caden Wilson, and Dawson Glenn.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Brooks will be held at 1:00 P.M. (E.S.T.)  Thursday, May 19, 2016, from the Johnson Cemetery with Rev. Russ Blackwell officiating.  Active pallbearers will be Buster Spivey, Chris Smith, Chris Harris, Jackson Harris, Michael Morris, Dawson Glenn, Dillon Peg, Shane Smith.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bonnie "Grannie" Callaway and Kathy Smith.

Mrs. Brooks will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. (E.S.T.) until the hour of service on Thursday.
