Our History

Mason Funeral Home began operating in July of 1999, and was founded by Henry and Peggy Mason. At the time, Mason Funeral Home was the only locally owned funeral home in Chattooga County. Mr. and Mrs. Mason opened in response to the great need of the community to have a locally owned and family operated funeral home offering reasonable prices. Our goal is to offer a complete funeral service to meet the needs of each and every family served, regardless of their financial situation. 

In February of 2025, Joseph and Jenna Swords purchased Mason Funeral Home from Mr. and Mrs. Mason. Today,  Joseph, Jeremy ("Big Mac") Cris, and all of the staff remain committed to their promise of excellence.
