Our History

Mason Funeral Home began operating in July of 1999, and was founded by Henry and Peggy Mason. At the time, Mason Funeral Home was the only locally owned funeral home in Chattooga County. Mr. and Mrs. Mason opened in response to the great need of the community to have a locally owned and family operated funeral home at reasonable prices. Our goal is to offer a complete funeral service to meet the needs of each and every family served, regardless of their financial situation. 

Today, Henry, Peggy, Joseph, Jeremy ("Big Mac") Cris, and all of the staff remain committed to their promise of excellence. Henry still continues to oversee the funeral home on a daily basis. 

Henry and Peggy live in Lyerly, GA and have been married for over 50 years. They have one daughter, Ashley, who is married and has two children. They reside in Summerville.
