Mr. Billy Joseph Stephens, age 55, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Stephens was born February 28, 1961, in Denver, CO, son of John Eugene Stephens and the late Dorothy Faye Herman Stephens.  Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed painter.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Stephens; a brother, John Dodson; and a sister, Teresa Sisk.

Mr. Stephens is survived by his wife, Patty Stephens; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Bonnie Jean Stephens; his father, John Eugene Stephens; a brother, Donald Dodson; a sister, Patty Anderson; grandchildren, Rebecca Grace Stephens, Christy Elizabeth Stephens, and Axle Stephens.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Stephens was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
