Mrs. Louise Day, age 88, of Menlo, GA, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Day was born January 7, 1930, in Berea, AL, daughter of the late Joseph W. and Annie Reese Thomas. She was a member of the Menlo First Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing. Mrs. Day was also a member of the Best Silver Club and enjoyed working at the election polls in Menlo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Alfred Day; a brother, John B. Thomas; sisters, Katherine Crowe and Mary Crowe.
Mrs. Day is survived by her sons, Terry (Kathy) Day and Thomas “Tim” Day; a daughter, Christy “John” Camp; grandchildren, Tiffany Agee, Caris Farrar, and Jon Farrar; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Day will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 20, 2018, from the Menlo First Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Hall, Rev. Billy Dempsey, and her son, Tim Day officiating. Interment will follow in the Alpine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Ballard, Bud Willis, Larry Mann, Bruce Agee, Matheiu Agee, and Bryson Agee. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hugh Jean Baker Sunday School Class of Menlo First Baptist Church, all other members of the Menlo First Baptist Church, Steve Baker, and Mark Goodson.
Mrs. Day will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 19, 2018. She will also lie in state at Menlo First Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Saturday.
