Willie was a great friend of mine for over 50 years. A great guy and a fierce competitor on the football field. We were team mates on the Atlanta Rebels, a semi pro football team in Atlanta. Our center was an All American at Ga Tech and played in the NFL for a few years. He told me that Willie was the meanest he had ever played against. Willie fought hard and with aggressive enthusiasm in every thing he did. I am proud that he was my friend. Rip Willie the fight is over.

I played football for Coach McGraw during the 1968 and 1969 seasons., my sophomore and junior years. The most outstanding memory of Coach McGraw I have was when he asked my daddy to let me live with him my senior year as the family was moving to South Carolina. Sadly my daddy refused. I played football and graduated from T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson, S.C.
