Miss Kathleen Poovey, age 92, of Lyerly, GA, passed away Friday January 22, 2016, in Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Miss Poovey was born May 2, 1923, in Gaylesville, AL, the daughter of the late Carl Smith Poovey and June Little Poovey.  She was retired from Best Manufacturing, was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy June Poovey.

Survivors include her sister, Mabel Poovey, Lyerly, GA, brother, Cecil and Jane Poovey, Centre, AL, niece and nephew, Cecilia and Dion Hudson, Mark Alan Poovey.

Funeral services will be  held 2:00 p.m. Monday January 25, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Teague officiating with interment in the Lyerly Cemetery.

Miss Poovey will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
