Mrs. Mary Jo Guffey, age 82, of Menlo, GA, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016, at her residence. 

Mrs. Guffey was born September 28, 1933, in Jamestown, AL, the daughter of the late James Luther and Julia Ann Deering Tucker.  Mrs. Guffey was a member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church and was retired from Best Manufacturing.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barnard David Guffey; and her son, Barnard Dan Guffey.

Survivors include her children, James Willie Guffey, Shawn Guffey, Janice and Phillip Ayers; brothers and sister-in-law, Tom Tucker, Jack and Martha Tucker; sisters and brother-in-law, Annie Mae Jennirs, Glenda and Medford Gass; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating.  Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery.

Mrs. Guffey will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday, September 12, 2016.
