Ms. Farris Christine Hix, age 85, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Atrium Health Floyd.

Ms. Hix was born December 10, 1938, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late James Lewis Hix and Gracie Madeline Smith Hix.  She was a member of Four Mile Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed as a Registered Nurse with the Veterans Administration.  Ms. Hix was also a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ed Davis.

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Linda Wooten Hix; sister and brother-in-law, Ella and James “Jimmy” Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ms. Hix will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 13, 2024, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Smith and Rev. Larry Scoggins officiating.  Private interment will be held in the Hix Family Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ken Reynolds, James Evans, Rickey Duke, Ryan Gravley, Dana LeGuin, and Richard Wright.

Ms. Hix will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Four Mile Baptist Church Building Fund.
