Ms. Billie Jo Hughes, age 54, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, April 6, 2025, at her residence after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Ms. Hughes was born October 29, 1970, in Rome, GA, daughter of Billy Robert Hughes and Marietta Rutledge Hughes.  She had attended West Berryton Faith Temple Church and the Berryton Bible Mission when she was able.  She was a former employ with Delbert Patty Construction.

Ms. Hughes loved online shopping and spending time with her daughter, but the light of her life was her grandson, Hyde McGinnis.  Even through her pain, she loved to make others laugh and to leave them with a smile.  She also loved listening to music.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Matt “Bubba” Hughes; paternal grandparents, Jack and Lula Hughes; maternal grandparents, Lonnie and Dicie Rutledge.

Survivors include her daughter, Jordanne (Joseph) McGinnis; parents, Robert and Marietta Hughes; sister, Robin (Timmy) Prince; bonus daughter, Maloane Hughes; grandson and the light of her life, Hyde McGinnis; special cousins and caregivers, Jonathan Rutledge and Pam Millican; and her furbaby, Hazel; along with several nieces and nephews and a lot of loving friends.

A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends at a date to be determined later.
