Ms. Abernathy was born April 27, 1971 to the late Donnie and Patricia Bowers Parris.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Tapp; children, Joshua Bain (Amanda), Danny Bain, Jr. (Maria), and Haley Fowler; siblings, Jason Parris, David Parris, and Shannon Trammel; and 8 grandchildren.
