Mrs. Wilma Geneva Burrage, age 84, of Summerville, GA, died Monday, April 7, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. Burrage was born May 9, 1940, in Rinehart, AL, daughter of the late Charles William “Willie” Dawson and Grace Geneva Dawson.  She was a homemaker and together with her late husband of 60 years, they fostered over 221 children.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burrage was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Burrage; brothers, Franklin Dawson, Wesley Dawson, Eugene Dawson, and Joe Dawson.

Survivors include her children, James (Rebecca) Burrage, Randy (Geneva) Burrage, David (Amy) Burrage, John (Loretta) Burrage, James W. (Brigitte) Burrage, Jimmy Burrage, Joshua Burrage, and Steven Burrage; sisters, Nilma Burrage and Martha Dawson; as well as 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 11, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Thompson officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Kevin Burrage, James Burrage, Travis Burrage, Richard Burrage, Joseph “Jo Jo” Burrage, Jason “B.A.” Trammell, Tyler Miller, and Misty Burrage.  Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Milam, Summer Hughes, Mandy Noles, and Nathan Burrage.

Mrs. Burrage will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 11, 2025.

The family would like to express a special “Thank you” to Mrs. Burrage’s granddaughter, Jamie Milam, for the selfless acts of kindness and love that she gave Mrs. Burrage.
