Mrs. Shirley Ann Forbes, age 73, of Trion, GA, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, at Atrium Health Floyd.
Mrs. Forbes was born June 22, 1949, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Ramond David and Dorothy Jean Thrasher Clowdis. She was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, worked as the Kitchen Manager at Gaylesville School. She was also former owner and operator of The Morning Glory in Trion. Mrs. Forbes was famous for her home-made chicken salad.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Forbes was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Jean Patrick.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Forbes; sons, Neil (Deb) Colbert, Tony Colbert; brother, David (Donna) Clowdis; grandchildren, Dalton (Heather) Colbert, Jason (Kelly) Clayton, Rebecca Clayton, Aimee (Dave) Bornstein, and Breana (Eric) Knight; sister and brother-in-law, Lena and Jim Crooker.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, May 28, 2023, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rodger Whorton and Pastor Sammy Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Neil Colbert, Dalton Colbert, Tony Colbert, Stan Rosser, Steve Rosser, and Ron Patty. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies of North Summerville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Forbes will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.
