Mrs. Sandra Elaine Simpson, age 77, of Cedartown, GA, died Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at her residence.
Mrs. Simpson was born September 17, 1947, in Dunn, NC, daughter of the late Alton Bass and Alease West Bass Johnson. She was a member of the Kresge Methodist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with the Polk School District where she worked as a secretary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Crawford; infant daughter, Heather Crawford; step-father, George H. “Johnny” Johnson; siblings, Retha Tart, Hazel Grant, Rachel Revello Derrcott, Alton C. Bass, and Dwight Bass; and son-in-law, Tim Morgan.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Terry Simpson; daughters, Dana (Kevin) Swafford, Stephanie (Johnny) Clark, and Angie (Anthony) Dollar; grandchildren, Jenna (Joseph) Swords, Kayla (Lucas) Green, and Drew (Katie) Swafford; great-grandchildren, Emma Warren, Charlee Green, Lexie Green, Addy Swords, Josie Swafford, Bo Swafford, Ethan Swords, Abigail Swords, Ella Swafford, and Case Swafford.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Kresge Methodist Church (15 Booger Hollow Road – Cedartown, GA 30125) with Rev. Mike Broome officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Drew Swafford, Kevin Swafford, Johnny Clark, Anthony Dollar, Joseph Swords, and Lucas Green. Larry Cone will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Mrs. Simpson will be in state at the Kresge Methodist Church and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Kresge Methodist Church General Fund (15 Booger Hollow Road – Cedartown, GA 30125).
