Mrs. Sandra Lynette (Carnes) DeBerry

Mrs. Sandra Lynette Carnes DeBerry, age 74, of Summerville, GA, died Friday, September 1, 2023, at Atrium Health Floyd.

Mrs. DeBerry was born May 21, 1949, in Trion, GA, daughter of the late Joseph Lonzo and Barbara Eugenia Patterson Carnes.  She had attended Fellowship Baptist Church and was retired from the Chattooga County School System.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene DeBerry; sons, Joseph LeBron DeBerry and Harold DeBerry, Jr.; and brothers, Bobby Carnes and Calvin Carnes.

Survivors include her son, Lamar (Larissa) DeBerry; a sister, Charlotte Maxson; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. DeBerry will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 4, 2023, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sanford DeBerry officiating.  Interment will follow in Garrett Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Lamar DeBerry, Alex DeBerry, Levi Thomas, Christopher DeBerry, Tobey DeBerry, Chuck Powell, and Ty DeBerry.

Mrs. DeBerry will be in State at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the hour of service on Monday.
