Mrs. Frances "Maxine" Jones, age 84, of Summerville, GA, died Monday, September 23, 2024, at Shepherd Hills Health Care Center.

Mrs. Jones was born September 29, 1939, in Rome, GA, to the late Jeddy and Mildred Ashworth Light.  Maxine was a Head Nurse at Redmond Hospital for more than 30 years.  She loved to crochet, making blankets and other apparel for friends and family.  She also loved reading, traveling with family, and loved going to church at Mountain View Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by sisters; Faye Duke, Raynell Wiseman, Carol Ash, Pat Woods; and granddaughter, Chelsea Gilliland.

Maxine is survived by a sons, Steve R. (Carol) Jones and Robert Walter "Bobby" Jones, Sr.; daughters, Angela Lane, Carolyn Gill, Pam Jackson;  brothers, Jerry Light, Billy (Debbie) Light;  sisters, Nancy Light, Fredda McCrickard, Roxie (Larry) Weesner, Liz (Jim) Bennett, Debbie Warnock;  12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September, 27, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Norton and Rev. Marcus McCrickard officiating.  Interment will follow at Summerville Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Larry Weesner, T.J. Gilliland, Jimmy Bennett, Marty Rausch, Dale Baker, and Gordon Kinsey.

Mrs. Jones will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Friday.
