Mrs. Mary Jo (Cain) Mills

Mrs. Mary Jo Mills, age 85, of Lyerly, GA, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Mills was born May 19, 1935, in Birmingham, AL, daughter of the late Donald and Lorine Lance Cain.  She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Hugh Mills; a son, Hugh Mills; sister, Peggy Cain; and great-granddaughter, Destiny Kimbrough.

Survivors include her son, Roger Mills; grandchildren, Missy Mills, Jason Kimbrough, Tyler Noles, and Jasmine Kimbrough; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside and interment services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mills will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Johnson Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Deric Tyler Noles, Caleb Collins, Michael White, Chris Blackman, Greg Blackman, and Dakota McGuire.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Overby, James Stanley Hammitt, and the members of Sardis Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held privately.

The Mills family along with the staff of Mason Funeral Home remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
