Mrs. Mary Katherine (Harris) Covington

Mrs. Mary Covington, age 77, of Summerville, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Covington was born September 17, 1943, in Trion, GA, daughter of the late Robert and Ester Harris.  She attended A.C. Carter High School.  Mrs. Covington was a member of the West 5th Street Church of Christ, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills with over 37 years of service.  She loved people and enjoyed flowers and going to trade day.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Covington.

Survivors include sons, Jeffery Covington and Benjamin Covington; grandchildren, Yohlace Shropshire, Talea Covington, Jeffery Covington; sisters, Helen Stamper, Barbara Johnson, JoAnn (Tommy) Collier, Ruthie Rounsaville; brother-in-law, George Covington, Henry Covington; special friend, John Fain, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Covington will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Summerville Cemetery with Bro. John Lewis officiating.  Pallbearers will be nephews.

Visitation will be held privately.

The Covington family along with the staff of Mason Funeral Home reminds anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
