Mrs. Martha Jane Savage York age 92 of Summerville, GA passed away early Saturday, June 28, 2025 at a local hospital.

Mrs. York was born March 25, 1933 in Marshall County, AL to the late William and Lena Ross Savage. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. She loved flower gardening and spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John W. York; twin brother; 7 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Survivors include her son, Timothy (Marsha) York; grandchildren, Dallas (Amanda) York and Jon (Emily) York; great-grandchildren, Chandler, Lucas, Lonnie, and Lena York; special niece Teresa England Price; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside and interment services to celebrate the life of Mrs. York will take place at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 1 at Greenhills Memory Gardens with Min. Hugh Glaze and Min. Terry York officiating.

There will be no public visitation.

The family would like to share their gratitude to Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center and especially to Eli Stewart for their excellent care for Mrs. York.

In Lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Mrs. York.
