Mrs. Lori McWhorter age 42 of Trion, GA passed away Friday, September 29, 2023 from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mrs. McWhorter was born on May 18, 1981 in Rome GA to Nolan and Rachel Delaine Crisp. She was an educator at Lafayette High School, and was a member Pennville Church of Christ
Mrs. McWhorter is preceded in death by her grandparents, Len Earl and Rachel Sparks, Pauline Crisp and William "Cherry" Crisp.
Survivors include her loving husband Anthony Mcwhorter; sons William and Owen McWhorter; parents, Nolan and Rachel Delaine Crisp; sister, Misty (Robert) McQuese; nieces & nephews, Noah, Eli, and Ava Grace McQuese. Other nieces and nephews Shane Tucker, Heather Roberts, Ben McWhorter, Tyson McWhorter, and Hampton McWhorter; and great nieces, Hannah Stewart, Rayne and Jolie McWhorter and several sister in laws and brother in laws.
Mrs. McWhorter's unwavering passion for education and her dedication to nurturing the potential in every student made her an embodiment of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Specializing in business and entrepreneurship classes, she created a learning environment that was both enlightning and empowering, where students valued and were motivated to excel.
Mrs. McWhorter also founded Rambler Customs; a school business that taught her students basic entrepeneurship and business skills to help prepare them for real life situations.
This school year, Mrs. McWhorter's dedication and passion were recognized as she was honored as the Teacher of the Year for Lafayette High School and the Walker County Schools System. This recognition served as a testament to her significant contributions to the field of education and her impactful role in the lives of her students.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. McWhorter will take place at 4:00pm Wednesday, October 4th at Pennville Church of Christ with Min. Robby Eversole officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery with Noah McQuese, Eli McQuese, Alan Mann, Richie McWhorter, Tracy McWhorter and Shane Tucker serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lafayette High School FBLA, The Trion High School 1997-99 Girls Softball team, and the current Trion High School Football team.
Mrs. McWhorter will lie in state at the the church and the family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the Lafayette High School FBLA.
