Mrs. Linda Gail Short Hazlewood age 57 of Gaylesville, AL was completely healed of cancer Sunday, August 6, 2023, and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Hazlewood was born a true coal miner’s daughter April 8, 1966 in Middlesboro, KY to the late Charles and Ruby Barnett Short. She was employed by Compassus Hospice and enjoyed farming with her husband Steve, southern cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She loved living life to the fullest and faithfully serving the Lord and sharing her love and her faith with others.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her father & mother-in-laws, Rev. William D. and Phyllis Buell Hazlewood; brother-in-law, Levi Shackelford, and her sister-in-law, Alberta Short.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Rev. Steven Hazlewood; son, Matthew Hazlewood; daughters, Kimberly Gilbert and Kayla (Joshua) Hester; siblings, Randle (Joyce) Short, Carl (Brenda) Short, Devauda (Dana) Mullins, Ruby (James) Parker, Wanda Shackelford, Bartie (W.K.) Sampson, and Roberta Arnett; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hazlewood will be held at 1:00 PM (EST) Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Hazlewood and Rev. Steve Hazlewood officiating. Interment will follow at AMI cemetery with Matt Hazlewood, Josh Hester, and Jacob Mealer, Jim Hester, and Dakota Gilbert serving as pallbearers.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11:00 (EST) until the service hour.
