Mrs. Leona R. (Ramey) Barnett

Mrs. Leona R. “Mawmaw Brown” Barnett, age 86, of Gaylesville, AL, died Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Floyd Medical Center.

“Mawmaw Brown” was born April 9, 1934, in Trion, GA, daughter of the late William and Lindy Cummings Ramey.  She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Gaylesville, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Harriet and Henderson Yarns.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Clifford Barnett; son, Johnny Brown; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son, Jerry (Linda) Brown; grandchildren, Amy Brown (Rick) Bozard, Joshua (Bridgett) Brown, John Edward (Patricia) Brown; and 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Due to the current health concerns for our community, graveside services will be held at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Stanley Koonce will officiate.
