Mrs. Laura Theresa (Adams) Powell

Mrs. Laura Theresa Adams Powell, age 75, of Summerville, GA, died Monday, March 8, 2021, at Redmond Regional Medical Center. 

Mrs. Powell was born March 5, 1946, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late James Adams and Ella Mae Finley Bennett.  She was a member of New Home United Methodist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.  Mrs. Powell enjoyed growing flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Wilson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Salvadore (Cassandra) Powell; daughter, Carmela Powell; brother, Ronald (Marcia) Bennett; grandchildren, Joshua (Maria) Powell, India (Norman) Sowell; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Sowell, Ezzaria Powell, and Jaylen Powell.

Graveside and interment services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Powell will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 12, 2021, at Pond Springs A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Griffin officiating.

Visitation will be held privately for the family.

The Powell family, along with the staff of Mason Funeral Home remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings limitations including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
