Mrs. Joyce Lee (Addison) Battles

Mrs. Joyce Lee Battles, age 62, of Gaylesville, AL, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

Mrs. Battles was born July 26, 1958, in Chattanooga, TN, daughter of the late Kenneth Lamar Addison and Mary Frances Shearin Ray.  She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church # 1 and had recently retired from Best Manufacturing.  Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, and daughter.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Battles; son, Stephen Ray Addison; and step-father, Alvin Junior Ray.

Survivors include her son, Chris Jared Battles; mother, Mary Shearin Ray; brothers, Lamar Addison, Darryl (Carla) Ray, Michael (Trisha) Ray, Randall Ray; sisters, Vicki Robbins, Pamela Porter, Kimberly (Michael) Reynolds; grandchildren, Gregory Battles, Kylie Battles, and Emmalyn Battles.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 3:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Mount Zion Cemetery with Rev. Briggs King and Rev. Ronald Berry officiating.  Pallbearers will be “Lil” Mike Reynolds, Darryl Ray, Lamar Addison, Michael Ray, Randall Ray, Michael Reynolds, Koby Addison, and Russell Addison.

Visitation will be held privately for the family.

The Battles family, along with the staff of Mason Funeral Home remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings limitations including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
