Mrs. Glenda "Kay" Bennett

Mrs. Glenda Kay Bennett, age 71, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Bennett was born December 15, 1946, in Tazewell, TN, daughter of the late Glenn and Ida Viola Greer.  She was a member of Chittum Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with McGinnis Drugs and Jackson Drugs.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, A. J. Greer.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband, Larry Bennett; daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and David Petty, Beth and Daniel Nixon; step-son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and DeAnna Bennett; a step-daughter, Paula Bennett; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bennett will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 9, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Norton officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Daniel Nixon, Austin Petty, Jay Greer, Blake Campbell, David Petty, and Benji McDonald.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Campbell, Jerry Sparks, Charles Holmes, and Lane Sentell.

Mrs. Bennett will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday.
