Mrs. Charlotte Sue Evett of Summerville, GA, passed away on March 3, 2024, surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Mrs. Evett was born June 15, 1944, in Summerville, GA to the late Hollis and Grace Louise Chappelear Reece.
Charlotte was Baptist in faith and was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church. She was employed by Best Manufacturing for many years, and later retired from the Chattooga County School System.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid seamstress, and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She will be remembered for her kind, loving nature, her selfless heart, and willingness to help anyone in need. Charlotte’s greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Rollett Evett, to whom she wed on March 11th, 1961; her daughter, Lydia (Bo) Chamlee, and son Tony (Kimberly) Evett, both of Summerville; Five grandchildren- Andrew (Misty) Weaver, Seth (Kimberly) Headrick, Hilliary (Seth) Dawson, Emily Evett (Tyler Cooper), and Karly (Matthew) Faircloth, Jeremy (Brittanie) Chamlee; and 13 great-grandchildren; two siblings- Joyce Salley of Salley, SC and Randall (Tracy) Reece of Jamestown, AL.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Davis officiating. Interment will be held privately at West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Weaver, Bo Chamlee, Will Wyatt, Zach Hughes, Seth Dawson, Tyler Cooper, and Matthew Faircloth.
Mrs. Evett will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
