Carol Allen Carson, who loved to be called “Momma” by her kids, departed her loving family on November 17, 2021.
Carol was born in Trion, GA, on September 24, 1944, to John William Allen and Margaret Ruby Allen.
Carol was mother to Jeffrey L. Carson, Jennifer Carson Hudson, and Christopher A. Carson. She raised her children with love and devotion in Riverdale, GA, with her husband Mackie Carson.
As a receptionist at the Georgia Bar Association, Carol was known for her cheesecakes and cheerful attitude. Her hobbies included collecting teapots and Disney figurines. She was most proud of her winnings from the penny slot machines.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Allen Eason and brother, Bobby Dan Allen.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Mackie Carson; three children, Jeffrey (Angela), Jennifer (Casey), and Christopher (Wendi); siblings, Brenda Gail (Everett) James and Donald Garret (Susan) Allen; grandchildren, Abigail Carson (Charles) Hortenstine, Adam Jeffrey (Kaity) Carson, Patrick Allen Carson, and Andrew Reid Carson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Mason Funeral Home. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Deron Darnell, Brad James, Patrick Carson, Tony Eason, Robby Allen, and Ken Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Carson and Adam Carson.
Carol will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday.
Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
