Mrs. Betty (Phillips) Chreitzberg

Mrs. Betty Phillips Chreitzberg, age 88 of Rome, GA formerly of Easley, SC, passed away June 29, 2023, at a Rome healthcare facility.

Mrs. Chreitzberg was born August 30, 1934 in Greenville, SC to the late George and Mary Brown Phillips. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Easley, SC where over the years she served the Lord mentoring young children and women. She was past President of the Women’s Club in Pelzer, SC, and was a loving homemaker blessed to stay at home and raise her children to love the Lord. Her hope is now reality; her faith is now sight.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Chreitzberg, Jr; daughter, Julia Ann Chreitzberg; and her son, Benjamin “Ben” Chreitzberg, III.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Chreitzberg (Dennis) Bryant; brother, George S. (Priscilla) Phillips; grandchildren, Virginia Nell Bryant, Alex Norman Bryant, Kathleen Sloan Chreitzberg (Ty) Crippen, and Benjamin Kilgore "Tyler" Chreitzberg, IV; and great-grandchildren, Hinley, Aria, and Isla.

Graveside and interment services to honor the life of Mrs. Chreitzberg will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Greenhills Memory Gardens with Pastor Jared Pickard officiating.  Pallbearers will be Alex Bryant, John Bryant, Casey Woodrum, and Dennis Bryant.

There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
