Mrs. Annie Mae Glanton, age 77, of Summerville, GA, went home to be with the Lord on the afternoon of May 14, 2020.
Mrs. Glanton was born April 18, 1943, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Lonnie and Laura Finley Stewart. She was a faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she attended regularly as long as her and her late husband’s health allowed. She was also a devoted member of the church choir and sang for many years with an independent group made up of friends and family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Glanton was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eddie Lee Glanton; a son, Edward Stewart-Glanton; and a brother, Earl Finley.
Left to cherish her memory are a son, Gerald Stewart; brother, Roland (Jackie) Stewart; a sister, Laura Knowles; several step-children, grandchildren; step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Due to the current health concerns for our community, visitation and graveside services for Mrs. Glanton will be held privately for the immediate family only. Rev. Robert Barrett and Rev. Kevin Roach will officiate. Interment will also be held privately at Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews. Flower bearers will be nieces.
