Mr. Willis E. Dover

Mr. Willis E. Dover, age 77, of Trion, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Dover was born June 10, 1943, in Trion, GA, son of the late Tiney G. and Georgia A. Payne Dover.  He was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Hayes State Prison.  He had also previously been employed with Galey and Lord.  Mr. Dover was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Staff Sergeant.  His service included two tours of duty in Vietnam where he was awarded multiple commendations including the Bronze Star Medal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Earl Dover, Marion Dover, Aaron Dover, and Jimmy Dover; and a sister, Nell Bryan.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Georgette Dover; son, Eric (Kristy) Dover; daughter, Sandy (Joe) Thomas; a sister, Kay (David) Bomar; and 6 grandchildren.

Inurnment services with military honors will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Georgia National Cemetery with Rev. Larry Brooks officiating.
