Mr. Phillip "Tony" Anthony Carroll

Mr. Phillip Anthony “Tony” Carroll, age 51, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Carroll was born October 26, 1966, in Rome, GA, son of Luther David and Dorothy Pauline Smith Carroll.  He was a member of the North Summerville Baptist Church.  He was a 1984 graduate of Chattooga High School and graduated from Kennedy Western University in 2004 with a degree in Engineering. Mr. Carroll was employed with the City of Summerville for more than 30 years where he was appointed as City Manager on October 1, 2016.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Lynda Kay Johnson Carroll; daughters, Taylor Danielle Carroll and Ashlynd Gabrielle “Gabbi” Carroll; parents, David and Dorothy Carroll; a brother, Adam Carroll; sisters-in-law, Joanna (Ed) Thoreson, Shelia Johnson.

Funeral services for Mr. Carroll will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 13, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Russell officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Daniel Gray, Terry Tinney, Harold Tucker, Jamey Cooper, Garrett Cothran, and Dylan Thoreson.  Honorary pallbearers will be all employees of the City of Summerville.

Mr. Carroll will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 12, 2018.
