Miles Odell “Dale” Hammett, Jr., age 57, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Dale was born May 5, 1964, in Rome, GA, to his parents, Miles Odell Hammett, Sr. and Barbara Crowe Hammett. He was a faithful member of New Hope Independent Church. Dale worked for over 30 years as a technician at Siemens, but his passion was on the farm as a Cattleman. He was also a member of the Red Angus Association.
He was a loving husband to his bride, Vickie Cannon Hammett. They have been married for 24 years and have three children; Meagan, Joshua, and Jonathan. Dale was a loving husband, father, and Pops to his five grandchildren; Ivy, Eva, Seeley, Vance, and Lincoln. They will always remember their tractor rides, hay rides, and checking the cows. They will never forget how much he loved them all. Dale also leaves behind two younger siblings; Jeff Hammett (Kim) and Cindy (Billy Don) DeBerry; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Hammett will be held privately with Rev. Jordan Smith and Rev. Jeff Hammett officiating. Interment will also be held privately. Active pallbearers will be Josh Cannon, Jon Hammett, Trey DeBerry, Richard RuBright, Tony Black, Jimmy Early, Wayne Owens, and Michael Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Hammett, Kelly Fuller, Elton Graben, Randy Wallace, and Clay Hollingsworth.
