Mr. John Edd “Woody” Woodham, age 83, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Riverwood Senior Living Community in Rome, GA.
Mr. Woodham was born January 29, 1937, in Abbeville, AL, son of the late David and Geraldine Dowsel Woodham. He was retired from Mohawk Industries after 39 years of service where he was a member of “The 25 Elite Club.” Mr. Woodham was also a veteran of the United States Navy. He loved the outdoors and working on boats and rod and reels. He was a member of the Bass Club and was also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodham was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Woodham; sisters, Ann Starling and Joyce Snell; and a grandson, Blake “B.J.” Jolly.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Woodham; daughters, Dianne (Gary) Norton, Lisa (Rickey) Phillips; grandchildren, Jason (Angie) Jolly, Matt (McCall) Jolly, Kristin (Ryan) Wilson; great-grandchildren, AnnaKate and Rylee Wilson, Blake and Carter Jolly, and Drake Jolly; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Steven Spears officiating. Active pallbearers will be Gary Norton, Rickey Phillips, Ryan Wilson, Matt Jolly, Jason Jolly, and Jimmy Starling. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and caregivers at Riverwood Senior Living as well as Mark Wright.
Mr. Woodham will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday.
The Woodham family, along with the staff of Mason Funeral Home remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
