Mr. John Walter Jackson, age 43, of Trion, GA, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Jackson was born September 30, 1977, in Rome, GA, son of Jerry Wayne Jackson and the late Winonina Gail Lea Jackson. He was employed with Mohawk Industries. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Jackson also thoroughly enjoyed wrestling. He was a fan of country music star Travis Tritt whom he named his son after.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his grandparents and a special friend, Kenny Arden.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda Collins Jackson; son, Travis Jackson; a daughter, Alexia Rose Jackson; his father, Jerry Wayne Jackson and step-mother, Brenda Jackson; brothers, Paul (Debbie) Jackson and Michael Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 11, 2021, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Daryl Collins and Mr. Paul Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Bankhead Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joe Eden, Jacob Eden, Daniel Eden, Jeremie Prater, Terry Lawler, Dustin Green, Justin Ramey, and Luke Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Jackson’s wrestling and Mohawk friends.
Mr. Jackson will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday.
Due to current community health concerns, face masks and the use of hand sanitizer will be requested for anyone attending the services.
