Mr. Jimmy Perkins McGraw, age 86, of Trion, GA, died Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation.
Mr. McGraw was born September 8, 1935, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Clifford and Trezevan Nelson McGraw. He was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills. He also retired from Chattooga County Public Works. Mr. McGraw was a veteran of the United States National Guard and a member of the Trion Lodge # 160 F&AM. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Janette Helms McGraw; sisters, Doris Ray, Jackie Green, and Patsy Morrison; son-in-law, Max Reece.
Survivors include his children, Kathy Reece, Susan Barnes, and Chris (Tina) McGraw; a sister, Freda Hill; grandchildren, April (Jeff) Mitchell, Jimmy (Lindsey) Reece, Jeremy (Kelly) Reece, Jenna (Corey) Barnes Caron, and Ragen McGraw; great-greandchildren, Abbey Mitchell, Judd Mitchell, Taylor Mitchell, Emma Reece, Olivia Reece, Matthew Gray; sisters-in-law, Gumelda Cargle and Nancy Helms; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Masonic graveside and interment services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Greenhills Memory Gardens with Rev. Terry Shores and Rev. Ken Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Helms, Jeff Mitchell, Jeremy Reece, Jimmy Reece, Marc Hogg, Michael Helms, and Judd Mitchell.
Mr. McGraw will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 P.M. prior to the service on Tuesday.
Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
