Mr. Jimmy Joe Johnston, age 66, of Lindale, GA, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Johnston was born February 22, 1958, in Rome, GA, the son of Mary Burke Norris and the late Joseph Alexander Johnston.  He was a foreman for Beers Construction  Company, a man of many trades, a traveler, a coin collector, and an avid story teller. He was married to Linda Hudgins Johnston, August 27, 1977,  who preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his father, one brother, one sister, and a granddaughter.

Survivors include, his mother, Mary Norris, son, Randy (Misty) Johnston, daughters, Karen (Shanon) Faircloth, Jennifer (Jeff) Ballard, brother, Stephen (Patricia) Johnston, sister, Angela (Bobby) Goodson, 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and his extended family at Dixie Fuel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 27, 2024, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Roberts and Pastor Steven Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Jacob Ballard, Chris Youngblood, Thomas Peteck, Rusty Frost, Joe Hudgins, Jey Eaton, and Chris Farrer. Honorary pallbearers will be the Georgia Christian Wrestling Federation.

Mr. Johnston will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Friday.
