Mr. James Lamar Dover, Sr., age 78, of Menlo, GA, died Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Pruitt Healthcare LaFayette.

Mr. Dover was born August 21, 1947, in Summerville, GA, son of the late James Leroy Dover and Thelma Lucindia Smith Dover.  He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.  Mr. Dover was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dover was preceded in death by a son, Brian Lamar Dover; and a brother, Jimmy Leon Dover.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Dover; sisters, Ann Shuler and Brenda Dover; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation and funeral services for Mr. Dover will be held privately.  Interment will also be held privately in the Macedonia Cemetery.
