Mr. James Dillard “Red” Gamble, age 91, of Gaylesville, AL, died Sunday, May 10, 2020, at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Gamble was born July 5, 1928, in Gore, GA, son of the late Dillard and Maudie Pauline Hall Gamble. He was Baptist by faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gamble was preceded in death by brothers, Lenzo (Betty) Gamble, George Gamble; sisters, Ruby (Leonard) Crane, and Margie (Raymond) Barkley.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years; Gussie Ray Gamble; sons, Rondy Gamble, Tim (Lisa) Gamble, Jeff (Laura “Sally”) Gamble; daughter, Kay Gamble; grandchildren, Rhonda (Tim) Grace, Steven Rich; great-grandchildren, Magen Rich, Addie Martin, and Lily Martin; and his little puppy, Sadie Mae.
Due to the current health concerns for our community, visitation and graveside services for Mr. Gamble will be held privately for the immediate family only. Rev. Sanford DeBerry will officiate. Interment will also be held privately at Union Hill “Needmore” Cemetery.
