Mr. James Earnest “Bruiser” Tapp, age 70, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Tapp was born April 8, 1951, in Trion, GA, son of the late Willie B. and Roxie Jewel Timmons Tapp. He was Baptist by faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills where he was also a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mr. Tapp enjoyed sitting on the front porch during the summer and being around his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William Gordon Tapp and Willie Dean Tapp; and a brother-in-law, Ken Kendall.
Survivors include his brother, Willie E. (Nancy) Tapp; sisters, Ida Mae Kendall, Emma (Leon) Caylor; sister-in-law, Alice Tapp; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 28, 2021, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin J. Norton officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Tapp, Kenny Kendall, Terry Eller, Jerry Eller, Roger Tapp, and Joseph Keith.
Mr. Tapp will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.
Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
