Mr. James Authur Floyd, age 64, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Floyd was born June 14, 1960, in LaFayette, GA, son of the late Emerson Eugene Floyd and Hope Marie Vinyard Floyd. He loved life and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed grilling out, hunting, and fishing. Mr. Floyd was employed with C.W. Matthews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth “Kenny” Dawson; son-in-law, Kenneth “Kenny” King; granddaughters, Alexis Evans and Letty Stoner; mother-in-law, Sara Johnson; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Rogers and Darlene Floyd; brother-in-law, Ricky Pierce; and a great-grandson, Isaiah Hazel.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Dale Floyd; daughters, Jennifer (Erick) Wilson, Amber (Ray) Blount, Crystal (Treavor) Curtis, Tabatha (Travis) Barnes, Amie King, and Lacie Evans; brothers, Gary (Mary) Floyd, Jerry Floyd; a sister, Gina Rogers; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In accordance with Mr. Floyd’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
