Mr. Jackie Leon Humphrey, age 77, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, August 11, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Humphrey was born July 22, 1947, in Trion, GA, son of the late Paul Jones Humphrey and Sara Ruth Smith Humphrey.  He was a member and Deacon of North Summerville Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with I.T.T. Lester.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Majors Humphrey.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Stricklin Humphrey; daughter, Renae Humphrey (Buddy) Poole; brothers, Wayne Humphrey and Benny Humphrey; grandchildren, Rachel Martin and Ryan (Madison) Martin; and great-grandchildren, Natalie Martin, Oliver Martin, and Willow Martin.

Funeral services for Mr. Humphrey will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Russell and Rev. Sammy Barrett officiating.  Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Wayne Humphrey, Benny Humphrey, Buddy Poole, Ryan Martin, Sam Stricklin, and Todd Stricklin.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Wofford, Dana Merian, Tim Evans, Gary Blankenship, and Jerry Brown, Jr.

Mr. Humphrey will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Tuesday.
