Mr. Franklin Paul Shaffer, age 81, of Trion, GA, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Shaffer was born April 2, 1943, in Corvallis, OR, son of the late Joseph Franklin Shaffer and Opal Pauline Britton.  He was a member of Menlo First Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin sister, Frances Early; siblings, Mike Shaffer, Chuck Shaffer, Joey Shaffer, Billy Shaffer, Carlene Shaffer, Juanita Rhodes, Tommy Clayton, and infant brother, David Shaffer; step-son, Kenneth Scott; grandchildren, Angel Gardner, Preston Wells; and a great-grandchild, Maddison Shaw.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Smith Shaffer; daughters, Maria Dayna Lee, Sandy (Sid) Brewer; step-daughter, Rita Hall; sister, Linda Nichols; brothers, Leroy Shaffer and Danny Shaffer; grandchildren, Stephanie Powell, LeAnn Gardner, Brandon (Janna) Gardner, Jason Wells, Kayla Padgett, Michelle Padgett, Trinity Jenkins, Chelsea Ford, and Emma Hamby; great-grandchildren, Lily Powell, Adonis Gardner; and special nephew, Dillion Smith.

Memorial services for Mr. Shaffer will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Menlo First Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Roach officiating.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at Menlo First Baptist Church from 2:00 P.M. until the service hour on Tuesday.
