Mr. Deward Ray "Bud" Ash

Mr. Deward Ray “Bud” Ash, age 83, of Summerville, GA, died Friday, May 29, 2020, at Rome Health and Rehabilitation. 

Mr. Ash was born July 21, 1936, in Fort Payne, AL, son of the late Taylor Leonard and Willie Mae Wofford Ash.  He was a member of Chelsea Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Shaw Industries.  He was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Ash was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Sue Bedwell Ash; son; Anthony Lynn Ash; daughters, Amanda Sue Ash, Sonya Payton; brothers, Horace Ash and Taylor Ash, Jr.; sisters, Jeanette Thompson, JoAnn Cozzort, and Helen Baggett.

Survivors include a son, Scott Ash; daughters, Belinda Rinden and Rhonda (Frank) Battle; a brother, Billy Wayne Ash; sisters, Bobbie Henry and Rebecca Price; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Due to the current health concerns for our community, visitation and graveside services for Mr. Ash will be held privately for the immediate family only.  Rev. Bobby Lemons will officiate.  Interment will also be held privately at Garrett Cemetery.
