Mr. David Brown

Mr. David Andrew Brown, age 80, of Summerville, GA, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, at his residence.

Mr. Brown was born May 3, 1942, in the Silver Hill Community, son of the late Joe Washington Brown and Flossie Eunice Holloway Brown.  He was a member of United By Faith Baptist Church and was a self-employed painter and carpenter.  Mr. Brown loved working with wood and building doll houses, bird houses, and bird feeders.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a son, Robbie Brown; daughter, Joanna Hope Brown; brothers, Emmett Brown, Theoda Brown; and a sister, Mildred Barlow.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Janice Parris Brown; sons, Alex (Lisa) Brown, Brandon Brown, Joshua Holloway; daughters, Marie (Richie) Smith, Jennifer (Tommy) Middleton, and Meagan (Justin) Hughes; brothers, Virgle (Annie) Brown, Frank Brown; sisters, Margaret “Monk” (Leon) Craig, Dean (Vernon) Ponder; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 14, 2023, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Brown and Dr. Charles Bishop officiating.  Interment will follow at Summerville Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Joe Craig, Jamie Ponder, Sam Brown, Mark Brown, T.J. Middleton, and Drew Middleton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Harve Culberson, Jason Costlow, Joe Costlow, and Josh Holloway.

Mr. Brown will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Friday.
