Mr. Christopher "Chris" Donald Green Obituary

Mr. Christopher Donald Green, age 57, of Dothan, AL, formerly of Summerville, GA, died Monday, January 27th, 2025, at Southeast Health Medical Center.

Mr. Green was first and foremost a loving husband and father. He worked diligently to instill the importance of education, hard work, and honesty into his four children. He loved his family fiercely and without reserve. Mr. Green’s greatest pride was his children. Through his encouragement, all four of his children attended college, found loving partners, and cultivated a relationship with God. Despite being an intensely private person, he was continuously approached and befriended by strangers, much to the amusement of his wife and children. In addition to his unyielding loyalty, he was truly and deeply funny and he could often elicit a laugh with just a look. Mr. Green’s first and longest love was of the outdoors. He often said he found some of life’s greatest peace listening to the early morning quiet of the woods or feeling the gentle current as he stood in a cool river.  His passion for hunting and fishing was a grounding force throughout his life. He spent much of his free time sharing that passion with his wife, children, brother, and father-in-law. Mr. Green was truly a jack of all trades. Whether his children needed to know how to skin a deer, fix a plumbing issue, change their oil, find the source of a mysterious leak in their apartment, handle their fear of the doctor, cook fish on the grill without it sticking, or how to overcome life’s greatest heartaches, they knew they could always call, and he would have an answer. Mr. Green loved and adored his wife more than anyone else in his life. His life was forever altered for the better on May 4th, 1996, the day they married at the Mentone Wedding Chapel. His family is completely and totally devastated by his passing. He will be missed every moment and every day for the rest of his family’s life. His family’s only comfort is the complete trust and faith Mr. Green had in the Lord.

Mr. Green was born December 8, 1967, in Rome, GA, son of Lillian Yarbrough Green and the late Donald Green.

He is preceded by his father, Donald Green.
