Mr. Charles Wesley Dawson, age 68, of the Gore Community, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at his residence.
Mr. Dawson was born September 9, 1952, in Summerville, GA, son of the late L. V. “Buck” and Velma Grigsby Dawson. He attended Subligna Baptist Church and was a self-employed farmer. He had also been employed with Roper as a truck driver and was a member of the Chattooga County Young Famers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Norton.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Whaley Dawson; daughters, Kristina Dawson, Anne Dawson; grandchildren, Brody Boswell, Dawson Boswell, Molly Dawson, and Kinsey Boswell; and a great-grandchild, Jaxson Gilstrap.
Due to the current guidelines and restrictions that have been set forth by the C.D.C. and the State of Georgia as it pertains to social gatherings, a private funeral service for the immediate family and close friends only will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Mason Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Bishop officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens where the public is invited to attend. Active pallbearers will be Brody Boswell, Dawson Boswell, Kennith Moseley, Greg Hurley, Jimmy Hix, and Ronald Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Lowry, Perry Westbrook, James McCoy, the members of Chattooga County Young Farmers, and the Brotherhood from Subligna Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held privately for the immediate family and close friends from 11:30 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Subligna Baptist Church Building Fund.
