Mr. Charles Wayne Hurley, age 83, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, September 26, 2021, at his granddaughter’s residence.
Mr. Hurley was born November 21, 1937, in Summerville, GA, son of the late James Robert Hurley and Trixie Elizabeth Hartline Hurley. He was a member and Deacon of Perennial Springs Baptist Church for 38 years and owned and operated Hurley Brothers Farm for 60 years. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Hartline Hurley; daughter, Pamela Hurley; son, David Hurley; a grandson, Dylan Hurley; and brother, James “Bo” Hurley.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Madysen Hurley; grandson, Ethan Brison; and a sister, Betty Sue Brooks.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 29, 2021, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Russell and Rev. Alton Stamey officiating. Interment will follow in Perennial Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ethan Brison, James Hehn, Garrett Hurley, Bobby Chisolm, Jessie Chisolm, and Jason Jarrett.
Mr. Hurley will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Wednesday.
Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
