Mr. Bobby Lamar Hughes

Mr. Bobby Lamar Hughes age 70, of Summerville, GA, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at his residence.

Mr. Hughes was born November 23, 1947, to the late Horace Reed and Virgie Bannister Hughes.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Valley Joist Steel Mill.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by brothers, Wilburn Hughes, Johnny Hughes, Charles Hughes, Winford Hughes, and Walton Hughes; and sisters, Elizabeth Baty and Louise Rogers.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Hughes; a son, Bobby Lamar Hughes; a daughter, Melissa Harrison; brother, Horace Hughes, Jr.; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Hughes will be held at 4:30 P.M. Sunday, September 2, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Pace and Rev. Gary Wells officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Edward Hughes, Jimmy Hitchcock, Donald Joe Hughes, Marty Rogers, Lydell Hughes, Nicholas Hughes, and Todd Hughes.  Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Hughes will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday.
