Mr. Bartley “Buckwheat” Andrew Robertson, age 57, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Robertson was born October 5, 1963, in Little Rock, AR, son of the late Stanley Robertson and Barbara Jean Landers Westover. He had previously attended Silver Hill Baptist Church. Buckwheat was the best brother in the world. He absolutely loved the Atlanta Braves and watching wrestling, John Cena being his favorite wrestler. But most of all, he loved the Lord and could be heard saying “God, God, God, Angels, Angels, Angels!”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eva and Andrew Sobin; step-father, Gus Castendyk; and a niece, Haley Jean Spraggins.
Survivors include sons, Stanley Robertson, Christopher Lakatos; daughters, Dixie Robertson Carnes, Jodie Robertson; sisters, Mary Lang, Tracey (Keith) Spraggins, and Tammy Cooper; special nieces, Kaitlyn Spraggins and Madison Spraggins; several grandchildren; and several other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the loving staff of Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center for their exceptional care and always treating him like family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 18, 2021, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel Rev. Ed Flinner officiating. Active pallbearers will be Stanley Robertson, Christopher Lakatos, Gage Barfield, Kaitlyn Spraggins, Johnny Rourks, Charles Kirk, and Greg Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Oakview Health and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Robertson will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Saturday.
Due to the current health concerns for the community, those in attendance are asked to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
