Martha "Diane" (Harrelson) Hudgins Prater

Mrs. Martha Diane Hudgins Prater, age 67, of Summerville, GA, died Monday, November 9, 2020, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Prater was born December 1, 1952, in Piedmont, AL, daughter of the late Joseph Daniel “J.D.” and Flora Jane Bryant Harrelson.  She was employed with the lunchroom staff at Summerville Middle School.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Prater was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Hudgins; brothers, Minus Atkins, Bud Harrelson, and Don Harrelson; sisters, Sylvia Rickman, Flora Mae Thompson, Brenda Dunnagan, and Virginia Williams.

Survivors include her husband, Stacey Prater; son, Philip (Suzanne) Hudgins; daughter, Penny Hudgins Copeland; sisters, Shirley A. Wells and Joyce Brock; grandchildren, Courtney (Simon) Eden, Kassidy Hudgins, and Chainey Warnock; great-grandchildren, Savannah Warnock, Jovie Warnock, and Olive Warnock.

Graveside services for Mrs. Prater will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 12, 2020, at AMI Cemetery with Rev. Sanford DeBerry officiating.  Pallbearers will be Mark Abernathy, Michael Abernathy, Brian Abernathy, Simon Eden, Chainey Warnock, and Wayne Stancil.

Visitation will be held privately.
