Ms. Gretna Kinsey Smithson, age 78, of Trion, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Atrium Health Floyd.

Ms. Smithson was born June 23, 1943, in Nashville, TN, daughter of the late Paul and Marie Edwards Kinsey.  She was of the Presbyterian faith, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Walmart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Lambert; and a brother, Ken Kinsey.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Paul (Gretchen) Smithson; daughter, Cherri (Tim) Elliott; grandchild, Harley Elliott; and great-grandchild, Khloe Elliott.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at West Hill Cemetery with Chaplain Kevin J. Norton officiating.

Ms. Smithson will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. on Thursday.
